Year Created: 2023 Medium: Performance, light bulbs, Ukrainian traditional attire. Unnoticed is a performance piece that unfolded in a corner of a public space. Each time the crowd became distracted from the performance, the artist would drop a lightbulb, shattering it on the ground. The loud, jarring noise would draw the audience's attention back to the performer. Each shattered lightbulb symbolized a life lost in war—lives that might have gone unnoticed were it not for the sound that forced acknowledgment. The total number of lightbulbs crushed remains unknown, the same way the total number of casualties in the ongoing Russo-Ukrainian war.
